The University of Minnesota's Department of Environmental Health & Safety (DEHS) provides ergonomic evaluations for university employees.
Ergonomic evaluations assess how an individual works within their workspace to ensure correct working postures and furniture setup. Employees become equipped with proper ergonomic practices to prevent injuries resulting from improper ergonomics associated with posture, repetitive motions and physical strain in the workplace.
In-person ergonomic evaluations, as well as self-assessments and distance evaluations are available. In addition, DEHS has a showroom located at Boynton Health Services where employees can demo chairs, sit-stand desks, keyboards, and mice. Staff are available during the building's open hours to provide assistance.
